Frequently asked questions

Do you only offer Burgundy domaines?

For now, yes. We are starting in Burgundy, because that is where allocation is the rule and scarcity is real. Other regions will follow; we will only announce them once the domaines are actually on the platform.

Where do you deliver?

At launch, delivery is offered within mainland France only. An account will not let you complete an order to another address.

My bottle arrived broken or damaged — what happens?

The Provenance Guarantee covers four incidents: a bottle broken in transit, a damaged but intact bottle, the wrong item received, an item missing from the box. The wine is not sent back: you report it from your order, with photos. If the domaine accepts the report, it replaces the bottle from its own cellar — the preferred outcome when stock allows — or partially refunds the bottles concerned.

Is corked wine covered?

No. A cork fault only shows on opening, sometimes years after delivery, and cannot be established by the photographic evidence the guarantee rests on. If a bottle seems faulty, write to the domaine: it remains the seller, and your legal warranties against it — conformity, hidden defects — are untouched.

How long do I have to report a problem?

Fourteen days from delivery, for every covered incident. A subscription ending does not close this window: it stays open for any order already delivered.

What evidence do you ask for?

In every case, at least one photo of the bottle or package concerned, six at most. The rest depends on the incident. A damaged but intact bottle: the painted code on the label is required. The wrong item received: the painted code is optional, given as a diagnostic aid — a code matching your own order in fact shows the correct bottle was shipped. A broken bottle: no code is required, there is no intact label to transcribe. A missing item: a photo of the opened box and a description of the incident.

Who pays?

Breakage and transit damage are covered by a guarantee reserve that Vins Vivus funds at roughly 2% of revenue. An error caused by the domaine — wrong item, missing item — is the domaine's own cost. Either way, you pay nothing.

What is the code painted on the label?

Every bottle carries a hand-painted code tied to the person who bought it — VV-2847-K, for example. It verifies a report, and it deters resale: a bottle that turns up elsewhere stays identifiable.

How should I store my bottles until I open them?

Somewhere cool, dark, and at a stable temperature, away from vibration and strong odors — bottles lying on their side if sealed with a cork. No special setup is needed to store wine for a few months to a few years.

How do I cancel a subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; it does not affect allocations already ordered.

Do the prices shown include tax?

Yes. Prices shown are all taxes included, including VAT and excise duty. The domaine, as seller, is solely responsible for determining and filing these taxes.

Is there a minimum age?

Yes. Creating an account is reserved to people who have reached the legal drinking age in their country of residence — 18 in France.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, at any time, from your account settings. Deletion anonymises your profile data; data linked to your past orders is kept under the conditions described in our Privacy Policy.
