How it works

The account

The account is free, asks for no card, and takes about thirty seconds to create. It is deletable at any time. Once signed up, you immediately see every domaine on the register, their tiers, and their prices.

Subscribing

Each domaine designs its own tiers: their contents, how many places, and the price. Vins Vivus sets none of them and suggests none of them. You subscribe to the tier of your choice, from the domaine you're interested in.

Access windows

By subscription

Your tier sets your access window to that domaine's allocations: each tier has its own lead over the others, set by the domaine — higher tiers reach it earlier. Once your window is open, wine is allocated first come, first served, until stock runs out. No lottery, no manufactured scarcity.

Open access

The register shows each domaine's access model. A domaine may open certain sales to any verified member without a subscription — the register states this expressly when it applies.

The domaine publishes an allocation

By subscription

Your plan opens its access window — higher plans get in earlier.

Open access

If the domaine has opened it, any verified member can buy, without a subscription.

Within each window: first come, first served, until the stock runs out.

Reservation and payment

A reserved allocation stays yours for a limited time, shown on screen at the moment of reservation, to finish paying — thirty minutes by default, though each domaine can adjust that window for its own allocations. Once it passes, the reservation is released and put back up for sale.

The painted code and the Provenance Guarantee

Every bottle carries a hand-painted code unique to its buyer. It is used to verify a report and discourages resale.
